How to install presets in Lightroom Mobile? (.DNG Files)

Step-by-Step Guide for Installing and Using Lightroom Presets on Mobile

Step 1: Download and install the Adobe Lightroom Mobile app on your smartphone or tablet.

Step 2: After your purchase, you’ll get access to the presets right away. You can download them by clicking the "Download files" button on the order confirmation page, or through a download link sent to your email. Choose whichever method works best for you.

Step 3: Download the .ZIP file containing the Lightroom Presets and extract the files.

How to Extract Files:

For iOS:

  • Go to your Files app and find the downloaded .ZIP file. Tap on it to extract the contents
For Android:
  1. Download a file manager app that supports ZIP files, such as Files by Google or WinZip.
  2. Open the file manager app and find the folder with the .ZIP file.
  3. Tap the .ZIP file, and a pop-up will show its contents.
  4. Tap ‘Extract,’ review the files, and tap 'Done' to finish extracting them.

Step 4: Open the Lightroom Mobile app.

Step 5: Tap on "Lightroom" at the bottom of the app.

Step 6: To keep things organized in your Lightroom app, it's a good idea to make a special album just for your presets. This way, your presets stay separate from your other photos and get imported correctly. Simply tap "Lightroom" at the bottom, select "All photos," and then click "Create new" to make a new album and give it a name.

  • Tap "Lightroom" at the bottom.
  • Choose "All photos" and then click "Create new" to name your new album.

Step 7: Now, you’re ready to upload your presets (DNG files):

  • Tap "Add photos."
  • Select "From files" and locate the folder where you saved your presets.

Step 8: Find the folder with your preset files or open the gallery to locate them.

  • Tap the '...' icon in the top-right corner and select 'Select.'
  • Tap 'Select All' and then 'Done' to upload all presets.

Step 9: Before proceeding, double-check everything:

  • Tap "My edits" at the top of the screen.
  • Choose "Imports" to see your uploaded .DNG files.

Step 10: If you can’t see the presets in your library, it may be due to a "Skipped importing duplicates" message or how your gallery is sorted.

  • Tap the sorting icon in the top-right corner and make sure your gallery is sorted by "IMPORT DATE."

Step 11: Create Lightroom presets from the .DNG files:

  • Tap on a newly uploaded file.
  • Click the three dots in the top-right corner.
  • Choose "Create Preset."
  • Name the preset and place it in a preset group. You can create a new group to organize similar presets.
  • Repeat these steps for each DNG/preset file.

Step 12: Using your presets in Lightroom:

  • Select a photo to edit.
  • Swipe left at the bottom until you see "Presets."
  • Tap on "Presets" and then select the collection with your new presets.
  • Choose a preset, and adjust the intensity by tapping the preset image again and using the slider.
  • Once you’re satisfied, tap the checkmark to apply it.

Step 13: Save your edited photo:

  • Tap the Share icon (a box with an upward arrow) in the top-right corner.
  • Choose "Export to Camera Roll" or "Export."
  • For the best quality, tap the toggle icon next to "Export to Camera Roll" and select JPG with 100% quality.

And that’s it! Enjoy your beautifully edited photos!
